ACP Draft adjustment to 14.94m TFW for the Neopanamax locks – February 22nd, 2022

PANAMA FLASH!Panama Canal Advisory to Shipping ADV06-2022

Based on the present and projected level of Gatun Lake for the upcoming weeks, the ACP announces that effective March 22, 2022, the maximum authorized draft allowed for vessels transiting the Neopanamax Locks will be 14.94 m (49.0 feet) TFW.

Vessels arriving with drafts over 14.94 m (49.0 feet) TFW may be allowed to transit past March 22, 2022, depending on the actual level of Gatun Lake at the time of transit. Otherwise, vessels will be required to trim or off-load cargo in order to be allowed to transit.

The ACP continues to monitor the level of Gatun Lake in order to announce future draft adjustments in a timely manner.

Draft reductions will be announced in 6 inch (15.24 cm) decrements, generally with at least four weeks advance notice.
