Panama Canal Panamax Locks Maintenance Program
The Panama Canal Authority has confirmed the Panamax Locks Maintenance Outage for August 2020.
During the Panamax Locks, Maintenance Outage period the daily transit estimated capacity will be reduced to condition 2a, therefore, anticipate will be an increasing demand to use the transit reservation system slots (booking).
The customers’ demand for booking slots available will far exceed the spaces available.
- Transit Condition Changes. When, due to operational factors, sustained Canal capacity is expected to be reduced, a corresponding
reduction in the number of available reserved transit slots may be ordered by the Canal Authority.
- Significant reduction in capacity (for example, lane outages) Slots available: Supers: 10, Regulars: 6, Total 16
