Re:  Modifications to the Transit Reservation Booking for Neopanamax Vessels

We refer to the enclosed advisory to shipping ADV43-2020 where the Canal Authority informed that during period 1 and period 1A the only ships permitted to be book will be Passenger vessel, Full container and LNG.

Any other market segment will only be able to apply at the opening of the period 2.  This change will take effect January 4th, 2021 0900hrs.

Booking period for Neo-Panamax for your reference

Period 1 = 365 days to 81 days before the transit date.

Vessel’s type that can apply

  • Passenger vessels
  • Full container

Period 1A = 80 days to 15 days before the transit date.

Vessel’s type that can apply

  • Passenger vessels
  • Full container
  • LNG Carriers

Period 2 = 14 days to 2 days before the transit date.

Vessel’s type that can apply

  • Any market segments

This advisory don’t refer only to the competition period (opening date of each period) but also any slot that remains available on a first come first serve basis can only be allocated to Full Container and Passenger in period 1 and Full container, Passenger and LNG in period 1A.
