Scheduled Culvert maintenance at Gatun Locks.
Beginning at 0400 hours on Tuesday, May 5th, 2026, until 2359 hours on Friday, May 19th, 2026 (12 days), the center wall culvert of Gatun Locks will be out of service for scheduled maintenance on cylindrical and rising stem valves. Lockages will take additional time during the maintenance period. No decrease in capacity is expected, therefore, the limitation on the number of restricted vessels and the number of slots per direction for Supers and Regulars in the Panamax Locks will remain unchanged.
As no reduction in transit capacity is expected during the Gatun Locks maintenance period, no major delays are anticipated, despite slightly longer lockage times.
Reminder LOTSA 2.5 Sealed bid application
As a reminder, the LOTSA 2.5 sealed bid competition will be conducted on April 28th in the following sequence:
- FixContainer: 0800 – 0830 hrs
- FlexContainer: 0830 – 0900 hrs
- FixGas: 0900 – 0930 hrs
- FlexGas: 0930 – 1000 hrs
- FlexGas+: 1000 – 1030 hrs
- FlexSlot+: 1030 – 1100 hrs
