Panama Flash for July 6th informs about Scheduled Lane Outage at Panama Canal Miraflores Locks and the Transit Reservation System.
The Panama Canal Authority informed via Advisory to shipping ADV-21-2022 a lane outage for maintenance. Lane outage is schedule to begin at 0001 hours on Tuesday, July 12 until 2359 hours on Wednesday July 20, 2022 (9 days) at the East lane of Miraflores Locks.
As a result, and in accordance with the rules governing the Transit Reservation System (OP Notice to Shipping No. N-7-2022), condition 2 for the Panamax locks will be in effect from Tuesday, July 12 through Wednesday, July 20, 2022.
Applications for reserved transits, while Condition 2 is in effect, will be received beginning at 0900 hours on Friday, July 8, 2022.
The Just-In-Time (JIT) transit slots available for supers will be reduced to one for each direction while Condition 2 is in effect, whereas the JIT slots for regular vessels transiting without restrictions will remain at one for each direction.
The booking slots through the auction process will continue to be offered during this period. The slots offered to Neopanamax vessels will remain unchanged.
