PANAMA FLASH! – Correction to advisory to shipping ADV-25-2023 – Draft Adjustment in the Neopanamax Locks and Panamax locks
Panama City – June 14th, 2023
This advisory to shipping replaces the advisory to shipping No. A-25-2023, it corrects the draft in meters of the 43.0 feet restriction and separates dates and draft restrictions per set of locks.
Neopanamax Locks
The Panama Canal Authority announces the postponement of the maximum authorized draft of 13.41 m (44.0 feet) TFW in the Neopanamax locks until June 19, 2023. Therefore, the maximum authorized draft of 13.56 m (44.5 feet) TFW will remain in effect until June 18, 2023.
The maximum authorized draft of 13.26 m (43.5 feet) TFW in the Neopanamax locks will be in effect for June 25th, 2023.
Panamax locks
The Panama Canal Authority announces that effective July 9th, 2023, the maximum authorized draft allowed for vessels transiting the Panamax locks will be 11.89 m (39.0 feet) TFW. Vessels Arriving draft 12.04m (39.5 feet) TFW will be allowed to transit until July 8th, 2023. A second draft restriction will be effective July 19th, 2023 for the Panamax locks, the maximum authorized draft allowed to transit will be 11.73 m (38.5 feet) TFW.
The ACP will continue to monitor the level of Gatun Lake and announce future draft adjustments in a timely manner.
