Neopanamax LOTSA 2.0
The Panama Canal Authority (ACP) expects to publish the Advisory to Shipping with final details of LOTSA 2.0 within this week. In the meantime, we are sharing the following planning information; all points remain subject to confirmation once the advisory is issued.
- No changes are expected to the customer-ranking calculation scheme for 2026.
- Reinstatement of LNG preference slot is expected in Booking Period 1A for 2026.
- LOTSA 2.0 packages will be offered by semesters = Jan–Jun; Jul–Dec.
- The number of LOTSA slots will be reduced from 4 to 3 per day, totaling 21 per week.
- Segmentation by market/service attribute will provide additional flexibility depending on the package obtained.
- The bidding process will remain sealed-bid, and base amounts by service attribute will be announced with the Advisory to Shipping.
- Customers are expected to be able to defer a reserved transit by more than 5 days.
- Advancement window is expected to allow advancing a reserved slot 15 days or more before the original reservation date.
